"I doubt I would have been able to gather so many varied experiences elsewhere as I have during my time so far at zeb."

What brought you to zeb?

During my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Zürich, I took several Corporate Finance courses and quickly realized that I enjoyed the subject and that it interested me. It was then the next logical step to delve deeper into the topic in my Master’s. I would do the same again if given the chance.

It was already clear for me before I graduated that I wanted to work for a company in a position that offers two specific aspects: firstly, a diverse range of activities and secondly, the option to gather insights into many various areas related to my interests and education up until that point. I heard about zeb from fellow students who had done internships at zeb and got to know the company through them: soon enough it became clear, that I too would end up at zeb. The company’s focus on the financial services sector—which already interested me during my degree—was the decisive point for me.

What are your responsibilities at zeb?

As a project member, I am of course heavily involved in project work. From Monday to Thursday, I am mostly on the clients’ premises working on the respective projects. Hardly any day is like another so I have a very interesting daily schedule. As well as this, I get involved in developing current banking topics in my subject area Retail Banking. Fridays are mostly planned for subject development and are spent in the office or otherwise in my home office.  Furthermore, I am happy to get involved in recruiting events, especially at the University of St. Gallen.

How do you like the work at zeb?

I like it a lot. I appreciate the wide range of tasks and the variation of topics. I doubt I would have been able to gather so many varied experiences elsewhere as I have during my time so far at zeb. Furthermore, I like that I don’t only do project work, but can also get involved together with work colleagues within the Zürich office and with recruiting staff.

Which skills does zeb require for somebody in your position?

If I had to keep to three characteristics, I would say a structured mindset, curiosity and a certain level of perseverance.

What would you say to students who are interested in consulting?

Go your own way! In my opinion, there is no single, universal path in consulting. I would recommend gathering as many different experiences as possible—be in through events, exchange with colleagues or internships—and exciting opportunities will certainly arise.
